At Riverview Urgent Care, we offer convenient and affordable COVID-19 testing for all ages.
Why Get Tested for COVID-19?
COVID-19 is a respiratory illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It can cause a range of symptoms, including fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.
Getting tested for COVID-19 is important for several reasons:
- It can help you determine if you have COVID-19 and need to isolate to prevent spreading the virus to others.
- It can help you make informed decisions about your health care, such as whether or not to seek treatment or quarantine.
- It can help public health officials track the spread of the virus and make informed decisions about public health measures.
What Types of COVID-19 Tests Do You Offer?
We offer two types of COVID-19 tests:
- PCR test: This is the most accurate type of COVID-19 test. It detects the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in your body. PCR tests typically take 24-48 hours to get results.
- Rapid antigen test: This test is less accurate than the PCR test, but it provides results much faster, usually within 15-30 minutes. Rapid antigen tests are best used for people who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
How Do I Get Tested for COVID-19?
To get tested for COVID-19 at Riverview Urgent Care, you can either walk in or schedule an appointment online. We offer testing Monday-Friday from 10am-6pm and Saturday-Sunday from 10am-5pm.
When you arrive for your test, you will be asked to provide your name, date of birth, and contact information. You will also be asked to complete a brief questionnaire about your symptoms and travel history.
A member of our staff will then collect a sample from your nose or throat. The sample will be tested for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
